Victor Ring
He was born in Brooklyn, Yarmouth County on Oct. 23, 1900. He stated that Carl Herman, Shaman and Haley introduced the deer in Nova Scotia in the early 1900's. He guided in Barer, Birchdale and in little Gull camp in Quinan. He worked for Selwyn Ring and guided for bird-hunting, and deer and moose at Birchdale. He also had to work and cook meals in the woods for the hunters. The typical food was hash and boiled tea made in billy can.
